Sunday drivers should plan around continuing downtown and neighborhood restrictions plus long-term expressway work. Give yourself extra time for airport runs and the return trip into Chicago.

• Downtown/Loop — Southbound State Street remains closed between Wacker Drive and Randolph Street. Officials have not posted a reopening time. Use another southbound crossing before Wacker and expect delays on nearby streets.

• Armitage Avenue — Westbound #73 buses remain on a construction reroute via Kedzie, Fullerton and Pulaski through 5 p.m. Monday. CTA does not identify a full street closure for general traffic. Watch for buses entering unfamiliar lanes and temporary stops.

• Jeffery Boulevard/75th Street — Work around Jeffery between 73rd and 75th streets and near 75th and Stony Island continues through October 26, affecting several CTA routes. Drivers should expect localized restrictions, but the alerts do not confirm a complete road closure. Slow down and follow field signage.

• 47th Street area — The #47 construction reroute via Ashland, 51st and Damen continues into November. The agency’s notice confirms a bus detour only. Avoid blocked curb space and consider 51st Street for east-west movement.

• Kennedy Expressway (I-90/94) — Outbound Stage 2 rehabilitation continues, with two mainline lanes closed at a time and the reversible lanes open outbound. The mid-gate remains closed and traffic shifts between Division and Addison. Current project information also lists the outbound ramps to Augusta/Milwaukee and Damen closed. Stay in lane and allow extra merging distance.

• O’Hare and northwest approaches — Traffic shifts and closed shoulders continue at the O’Hare North Toll Plaza. The eastbound I-90 ramp to Arlington Heights Road and westbound ramp to Barrington Road are reduced to one lane. Airport travelers should avoid tight connection timing.

• Western and northern suburbs — Nightly full closures are listed on eastbound I-88 from Spring Road to I-290, with posted detours. Washington Street over I-88 in Naperville, Sanders Road over I-294 and Deerfield Road over I-94 remain one lane in each direction. Use parallel crossings and follow posted detours.
